Bandrescue.com was started on MySpace in March of 2007 as a means to provide helpful information to bands while they are on tour. The owner of the site has a son who toured with a band. This gave her an indepth look into the lives of the touring band and the hardships they face on the road.
She quickly realized the need for an official site which went live in April of 2007. Since that time many more concepts have been unveiled and some that are still in the quiet stage. We introduced our Venue Map Function. The Venue Map function allows bands to locate themselves at the Venue and by the simple click of their mouse choose various services they may need while in that city. Once these services are chosen, they can click a steering wheel and be mapped directly to all of the locations. No typing, just clicking the mouse. The whole idea is to make it easy on the band who is probably inside a dark van in the middle of the night after their show. Now that GPS devices are widely used, the services are not as important around the venues. However, many bands tell me that having the maps is helpful as it guides them as to which venues to book in what order.
We have been working with a developer with hopes to build a Tour Builder that bands can use to book their tours with. It's a slow process.
We are also developing merchandise software to keep your inventory and sales. This will be available for a small fee and will be downloadable and windows based so it won't require the use of the internet inside the venue.
Above all, we love bands. We want to help you! You can help us by telling everyone about us. Tell your venues, labels, booking agents, fans!
So, what do we do here?
1. Provide resources in the way of Venue listings for each state and other helpful links to information.
2. Perform live video interviews of bands and showcase them on our site.
3. Perform web based interviews
4. Review albums
5. Provide answers to questions whenever possible.
6. Hang out with you when you are touring near us.
7. Answer NO to every band that asks us to book their shows for them. We are NOT a booking agency.
8. Be cool all around people that are here to promote an industry with the hardest working musicians around!
We do this because we, too, believe in your dream!
