BandRescue wants you to be safe on the road. The ultimate set up would include a double axle trailer so that a blow out doesn't cause an accident. Even with a double axle trailer you will need a tire once in a while. The best case scenario is to have a spare tire already mounted on a wheel so your down time is kept to a minimum. The last thing you need is to be stranded on a busy highway or desolate 2 lane road. This is not only dangerous, you might be late for your show!

We've done some research here that will hopefully assist you in locating a spare for your trailer and how to find out what size you need.....
The first thing you need to learn is a little about tire construction.

To sum up tire construction, automotive bias or radilal tires, with their more flexible sidewalls can accentuate trailer sway problems whereas the stiffer sidewalls of the ST (special trailer) bias ply tires help to control and reduce sway problems. Best trailer control will be achieved with ST tires.
Next, we will look at how to measure your hub to decide what bolt pattern you have on your trailer.

This is the standard 5 Lug Chevy/GM bolt pattern. Due to the wide availability and economical price of these automotive rims, this bolt pattern is found on many trailer applications.
This is the standard 5 lug bolt pattern hub for the vast majority of boat trailer hubs and rims. It is also known as the small Ford bolt pattern and is used by some Cargo trailer manufacturers.
Old Chrysler product and other very limited applications. Probably not found on your trailer.
Commonly referred to as the "big" Ford bolt pattern. This rim size is found on many recent year Ford trucks but not likely on your trailer.
